So I get to go find some things out today and I guess I am getting a little anxious about it all. I go to my orthopedist today for my little over a year follow up appointment of sorts. Dr. isackson is going to do a little X-ray of my leg, tell me what he thinks of it all and then we can discuss surgery to take the rod out of my leg and then I can be back on crutches for 6 weeks. Once I am laid up for 6 weeks that will be a nice little vacation from work, but I have to make sure not to pack on the weight like I did last time.
Funny thing, being extremely inactive because you can't walk for a few months and coupling that with comfort food, is not good for the weight, it tends to skyrocket a bit, which sucks, but I have worked all that weight off and a bit more, so that's good.
So yeah I get to go figure some things out, hopefully I will get a good say in when I have surgery so then I can take part of the summer off and not have to work in the heat, also I wonder if I will be able to keep the rod itself. I don't know if they will let me because of the bio-hazard deal, but to hell with it as it's my body and it has held that rod in there for a little over a year now and I want it dammit.
Oh well that was a bit rambly but these things tend to happen, sall good.
a little update....
So doctor's appointment went well, and the bones in my lower right leg look good. doc was pleased and told me it was up to me when I have the rod taken out of my Tibia. The good news is that if I set up an early morning surgery then I can be home that night which would be nice. Although a couple of the nurses were cute as hell when I stayed there last year, but oh well anytime you can avoid a hospital stay it's a good day. Unfortunately I have to be put under which sucks a lot, as that is one of the weirdest feelings ever, oh well necessary evil.
So yeah, now I just have to figure out what tuesday or Thursday in the future I want the rod taken out of my leg, hmmm what to do, what to do?
