Well folks i officially have a new favorite movie!!! The Last Samurai!!!
Man it really blew me away, and had such a cool ending! in fact there were several scenes that were really touching! if you only buy a few DVD's a year, you must make this one of them!!! it's truely a great movie!

well my boss gave me a good review. i was kinda surprized, but i guess he gave everyone good reviews!!! he said we could exspect around a 2.5 percent raise which will be about 27 cents

Well, you know, its good to know that they arent sending your job overseas, why should they?? they have all of the underpaid workers that they can shake a stick at. I am lucky, i dont get reviews, when i am working, its in my contract what they raises are and when, i could care less if they think i am a valuable employee, the bottom line is i make them money, lots of it, and i know that i am not irreplaceable, therefore, i do my job.
As far as banshee's statement about the managers giving up their raises so that the employees can have one, well thats the new trend in the market nowdays. I find it funny that they "give up their raises and bonuses" only to be driving a new car about two weeks after evaluation. yeah, my heart bleeds for them.

When I worked at a hotel everyone always got middle of the road reviews no matter how good of a worker you were. And I was one of the best but out of either a 3/5/7% raise I always got a 5%.

well another work week starts. going to be trying a fruit juice fast this week. all i'll be having is fruit juice, oh and Arazona tea, cause that has replaced coffee for me. it's supposed to help clean you out ,but we'll see. i've done the fasting thing before, but never with juice. have any of you heard of the master clenser fast???

So you're fasting eh? I've heard of all different kinds of fasts. I've only fasted for no more than two days at a time. I normally do that when I've gone to Europe for like two weeks and eaten myself silly and not gotten an ounce of exercise. My parents used to do the Lemonade fast to cleanse themselves. I think that might be the Master Cleanser though. I'm not sure. It's all crazy and extreme but it's supposed to be ok I just don't think you should do it for very long.

because i rely so heavily on my imagination when i read, i tend to avoid books turned movies where the leads do not fit the characters as i "see" them. often, i am dissapointed by books turned movies because i think they miss the point, or focus on the commercial potential of the plot rather than the spirit of the story. this upsets me very much. notable exceptions are:
1. period pieces,
2. movies that successfully modernize period novels (a rarity), or that simply transform the spirit
3. or movies that are stand alone works of genius, however well they correspond with the novel.
for ex, i love the 1940s version of great expectations, because its very true to the book and exceptionally haunting. i've not yet seen the remake, so i cannot properly comment on it. as for 2., i think clueless is a funfun movie that captures the essence of emma without even attempting to imitate it. as for 3. the color purple is one of my favorite movies AND books of all time, and despite the brilliance of the characterizations that cross each genre, i consider each a stand alone work.
so that is my 2cents.

Sometimes it works for me sometimes it doesn't. If a movie is shit then it's shit no matter how good the book is. I can't think of any at the moment but I've thought while watching a trailer...oh crap they made that into a movie...they're going to F it up!

Rewatched some of my favorites, like Six String samarui, and Shogun Assassin
Went to B&N and found a couple of old horror movies. Blackula, and Scream Blakula Scream, both pretty cool movie if a little on the hokey side, but hey, some of the old stuff is the best!!!

I just started a new game of M:TW last night, reunited France, my crusades captured Antioch, Edessa and Tripoli. Have yet to decide whether to invade England, Germany or Spain. Hmmmm...sod it I'll attack em all!
