When it comes to the snow; no one knew in the first place. There's some invisible line running perpendicular to I-55 between here and St. Louis. People to the north respect the white blankets, carefully turning wheels with each blizzard.
In Tennessee, we feared the snow, the word resting behind our lips when cold weather threatens. We don't even mention ice, remembering dented test tubes bending limbs, cutting our country homes from civilization for weeks.
When the small Honda slammed into my car, pushing it across the grating snow into the round-about's median, I felt twelve-years-old, thumbing my game-boy in front of the window-framed iceland, the splintered sun our only light.
Catching up, pt. 2
So here is the new car I got after mine was totalled.
And I also realized that I've moved up in the relationship dept. since we last spoke. Here's my new girl, Nicole. She wants to grow up to be an SG (Dahlia).
