Omigod! You just wrote the story of my life in that first sentence of yours! Of course, you'd have to add: and then the deadline loomed, and I worked non-stop and did non-sleep nonstop and made it by the skin of my teeth! (What's the skin of your teeth? Your gums?) I'm working on changing that whole pattern, but it's proving difficult.
