So I feel the urge to clarify my diet in my journal... if you don't want to read it, stop now wink

So the vegan thing. I'm still trying to decide what to do. Essentially, I currently eat only free range meat, because I don't want to financially support corporate farms. I feel like it's silly to do this with meat and not everything else however... since all of the products contribute to the market. Since it will be almost impossible to really deduce the origin of animal materials in most products, and because I feel like I have enough options that I don't NEED any of those things, I'm thinking of going vegan.

I think corporate farms are horrible things, both because the animals suffer for their entire lives (or at least a large part), and because I think the entire practice is ridiculously unnatural and unhealthy for the planet. I think if it comes down to it, I feel like killing and eating other animals is as natural as any other animal doing it, and I don't feel like there's anything wrong with that, so I don't know why it would be wrong for me to do it.... however, until I kill my own food, I feel like I have no way of knowing how those animals are living, and I refuse to take part in making something live a shitty life. Death is not bad in my opinion... suffering is.

Of course, there's the fact that my mere existence is displacing, destroying, and most likely making many animals terribly uncomfortable.... but I'm not ready to tackle that yet. I also feel that my existence is as valid as anything elses existence, so I definitely consider a certain balance appropriate.

And no complaints... if you read it, it's you're own fault wink

i wonder if anybody's done a study to see if sustainable farming can sustain the current poopulation of this country.

no way, modern agribusiness would kill any report/study!

I would eat free range meat if I ate meat...
