Quotes!:

A poem is no place for an idea.
- Edgar Watson Howe
If there's anything unsettling to the stomach, it's watching actors on television talk about their personal lives.
- Marlon Brando
Furious activity is no substitute for understanding.
- H. H. Williams

Interview Questions:

1. What will your last supervisor say about you when we call them?
A. I imagine he will tell you that I am a positive person that takes an approach that gets results from any and every situation the job throws at him.
2. Take a moment to evaluate yourself. Why should we hire you for this position?
A. I have no problem separating business and personal. I was raised in business. I ran my first cash till at age eleven. I started greeting customers at age four. That being said I bring experience beyond my years to any professional situation.
3. What did you want to be when you were 5 years old?
A. Three things: Rock Star - preferably a piano banger. Imagine if you will a butch Little Richard, Young and Monogamous Jerry Lee Lewis, a pale and slim Fats Domino. Also, Quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys. Finally, Superman. In reality my Dad covered 2 out of 3 so I guess I really just wanted to be Art. I will let you guess which 2 he covered.
4. If you had six months with no obligations or financial constraints, what would you do with the time?
A. Travel. Japan followed by Bora Bora followed by Chile then some friends say Malaysia is nice.
5. How would you rate your computer skills such as Excel and Word?
A. Functional is beautiful
6. If someone wrote a biography about you, what do you think the title should be?
A. Not self made man - loads of people helped
7. This job is very detailed and requires a very detailed person to do it; please, give us an example of how you are a detailed person.
A. If you don't pay attention to what you are doing bad things happen. Bad things take money from good things. Pay attention.
8. Do you have reliable transportation?
A. 5 days a week.
9. This position requires you to work every weekend are you willing to be working every weekend?
A. I am. I may not like it but you will never hear that. Complaining does nothing productive.
10. Who do you admire the most and why?
A. Bruce Wayne. Took an event that should have broken him and turned it into a life calling to do the greater good for all. Talk about taking lemons and making lemonade.
11. How important is appearance to you?
A. I stand behind the idea that you dress for the job you want rather than the one you have. Although, that is a sliding scale. You don't wear a tie to shovel the horse stalls.
12. Tell me how you have handled a conflict with a customer before?
A. I spent about four years on the phone for cingular and cox. Then, three years taking face to face conflict resolution to task for my current job. The main thing is just listen. Most people just want to be listened to. Hear them out first. Then you make offers that are to scale. Some people cannot be made happy. That does not mean you don't try. Nobody and nothing is really perfect but that doesn't mean you give up. Listen and give effort to make amends. Take ownership of the issues they have and ask yourself if the roles were reversed what would you want.
13. How do you deal with in office gossip?
A. I don't. I will listen all day if someone wants to fill me in. Realize that some people thrive on and seek chaos and stress. Don't be 'some people'. Be better.
