Today we have quotes from Chuck Palahniuk and random thoughts of The Eagle.
"...there is always something to pick the scab off of. Some unhealed horrible thing to dig your fingernails into to open up and explore." - CP
"I need to sometimes talk to the wife while I am at work. It reminds me why I am at work. The whole caveman thing kicks in. 'Must gather for woman, must keep woman happy.' It is really kinda sick." - TE
"In a way I'm living on gravy right now. That's really the sense. I've peed my name in the snow and it's good. I've made my mark." -CP
"Words are so powerful that even complete shit can sound important: 'Existential Burger with Sierra Mist' is the latest combo to make me pause." - TE
" It's my goal to be charming and entertaining in my rants." -CP
Old enough to vote
1. What is the federal voting age where you live? Do you feel it's too low, too high, or just right?
18. Just right. You can die for your country, sign a contract, smoke, gamble, and see a really filthy movie. You deserve an opinion.
2. How old were you when you first voted (if ever)?
18.
3. Did you have any interest in voting before you reached voting age? Why or why not?
Yes. I am personally still miffed that Regan got re-elected.
4. What is the minimum legal age (if any) to be elected to the federal house(s) of government where you live? What's the minimum for the federal leader(s) (e.g.prime minister, president, supreme benevolent leader), if any? Do you feel these ages are too low, too high, or just right?
Not sure. 35. Kennedy set the bar for president age. There will never be another younger. Not sure I agree but Experience is no better tool for leading.
5. What changes do you think it would make in the political landscape of your area if the voting age were lowered to 16? 14?
I don't think it would make a difference. There would be just as many kids voting as their parents tell them and there would be voting the exact opposite to rebel.
Revenge of Mish-Mosh!
1. Remember the scene with Molly Ringwald putting lipstick on by holding it in her cleavage? Name one really bizarre thing you know how to do. No matter how small.
Fondly. I can do quite a bit of things with my toes. My second is longer than the first so I can pick things up and turn things on. etc.
2. What's your favorite way to pass the the time?
Watching movies or mixing playlist.
3. What's your favorite restaurant and why?
Right now Logan's Roadhouse. I have never had anything I didn't like there. I usually get out for under or around $20 for two of us. Also, I just like the atmosphere.
4. Which TV/Radio show did you like that's not aired any more?
I used to love listening to Rockline on Sunday nights in the early and mid 90s. And I miss liquid television on MTV. Hell I miss the old MTV when there was an hour and a half that was not music videos. Every Saturday would be the top 20 video countdown. The daily video request show showed the entire video, not just 45 seconds.
5. if you had a choice of learning another new language, what would you choose? what do you think that reflects about you?
Japanese or Spanish. Japanese reflect a love of the culture. Spanish reflects I am practical.
The Questions...
1) What am I doing?
Filling out questionnaires, wondering what I am going to do tonight, considering getting a drink.
2) What does my life mean to me?
The pursuit of happiness
3) What of my faith?
I lean towards Buddhism. I see your 10 commandments and raise you the eight fold path.
4) Where do I begin?
If not now then when. Start each day as if it is the last and the beginning.
5) Who am I?
I am: a little bit of loneliness, a handful of disregard, someone that is not living up to their potential, someone that has come a long way, someone that has so much farther to go, someone that needs to be a better friend, not superman, someone that will point out my flaws before you can, someone whom the truth cannot hurt, not what you want me to be, quite possibly what you need me to be, not the average redneck, lucky to have my wife's love, better than some expect, better than most suspect, fond of hats, going to win, always wanting more, thankful for what I have, humbled by those that care.
