I'm pretty depressed about the whole hurricane Katrina disaster. I feel like an asshole for complaining about dumb shit...while there are people in my country suffering like I cant even fathom. I gave the red cross $10... and im glad that i helped, but i still feel like its not going to make a difference. i wish i could do more. life can be so beautiful and so horrifying.

Too true. You're not an asshole for worrying about YOUR problems. You're better than that because you're worrying about yours and everyone elses!!
And yes.. life is very beautiful at times. Sometimes that very beauty can rot before your eyes and completely break you. It can be really harsh and unforgiving. That's where alcohol comes in biggrin It starts out awesome.. smilethen you get alittle woozy eeek then you puke and if you puke too much you skull Just like life! I'm bored toooo often biggrin

It's hard to simultaneously recognize the validity of your problems and sympathize with the battles that others have to fight. Ultimately, you've got to live with you, so don't be too bummed about it.

It's good that you did something, donated some money, and it will make a difference in aggregate.

I'm saving my money because a few good friends have family down there and I'd rather give directly to them and help them out at that level.

This shit is heavy though. It's probably the worst natural disaster anyone alive has seen. And some of my friends' relatives have just lost everything. Everything. Man.
