My laptop is rooted frown

When it decides to turn on, it spontaneously shuts off within a few minutes. I'm pretty bummed. I'll figure something out. Hopefully it's repairable.

Anyways, while I've got use of Dah's computer, I figured I'd stop by and let you folks know about my laptop problems. I doubt I'll have much access for a while.

I'm off to Sydney this weekend too!!

I would second Charbo on his. But I'm pretty sure your graphic card seems to be dying.
Changing a graphic card on a laptop isn't that expensive.

If it was dust, it would happens sometime after using it.

Indeed, it's most likely either your power source or graphic card gone bad. In any case, I hope all else is well in your world!
