I wasn't expecting such a huge response to my last blog!
My favourite flower is a sunflower.
On the way to see my Dad yesterday, I passed an overgrown garden with some beautiful sunflowers peeking out.
Sunflowers always make me smile!
Jasmine reminds me of my Mum, orange roses remind me of a friend who has passed away, and while carnations are never a flower you should give your girlfriend (unless she likes them), I have fond memories of taking carnations wrapped with babies breath to the nursing home to make the old ladies smile.

same here, I buy gifts and send cards at odd times, tends to pack more of a punch that way... rather than when one is 'obligated' to do so
