Today my Heart has truly Broke. I have found out that one of the most influential people in my life has passed away. Eunice Kennedy Shriver has left this world. She was a Champion for those who would be stuck in a closet, left in the basement to never be spoken of by family. She was the founder of the Special Olympics. She found away to put my brothers and other like them in the limelight. The world, my world, is less with out her.
I have two brothers with Downs Syndrome who have been involved with the Special Olympics for years. The Special Olympics and my older brother were conceived about the same time and my younger brother grew up in the Special Olympics. I myself have volunteered with them since I was 9 years old.
She created something special for sure.

Grrrr...I only had popcorn last night. Which is also good....but its no DQ cake.
