A belated Happy New Year to everyone! As usual an overdue update from me that I intended to write last year but didn't get a chance to. 2025 was mostly a good year and so far, 2026 has me achieving goals and I even had my first shoot in months with a photographer that I've wanted to work with for years! I was blown away with the photos that I've seen so far and I'm excited to work with her again in the summer! The photo above is from Paperdoll photography!
In typical fashion, I'll pick up where I left off with the last blog I wrote. After turning 40 I suddenly found myself having a huge urge to garden more. I was constantly buying plants and flowers though the only successful things I grew were lemons, blackberries (which were eaten up by birds), strawberries (which a squirrel got before I got cages for the berries), and flowers. The peach tree that I bought a few years ago finally bloomed and started to grow peaches but unfortunately they all ended up shriveling up. I'm hoping they will do better this year if I can get the tree planted, and with the fertilizer I got. The variety that I have can be grown in pots but eventually I'd like to plant all of my fruit trees in the ground. I also bought a cherry and a pomegranate tree so I'm excited to watch them grow.
I finally attended Momocon and had a great time with friends. I didn't spend nearly as much as I do at Anime Weekend Atlanta which is good! I haven't decided if I'll attend again this year or not yet. I didn't take a ton of photos as I was just checking out the sights.
Spent a day going to two different peach orchards and had a relaxing time picking peaches and enjoying the views. I even decided to try/buy some peach BBQ sauce but it just tastes like normal sauce to me.
Discovered a tasty vegan pizzeria that isn't far from a bubble tea place that I like. I've been working my way down the menu and I've almost tried all of their pizzas due to a lovely half and half option.
Got a chance to see 3L3D3P after work, hopefully I'll be able to meet @milloux next tour! 💖
Saw NIN for the first time and ended up taking more video clips than I did photos 🫢
Finally got to see Motionless in White and Bring Me The Horizon as well as finding a new favorite in one of the opening bands called Amira Elfeky 🎶
Dyed my hair for the first time in years after seeing ads for Polar dye shampoo. I went with purple as the only other color they offer outside of natural colors is red. I've used it several times now and love it! It's not super vibrant unless I'm in the sun. It's more plum than purple since I was starting out with dark hair, but it works well. I'm sure by the time I finish the bottle, I'll fully be purple. I haven't decided how long I'll keep dying my hair but I'm enjoying it so far.
Went to the Fall Renaissance Festival though I didn't take a ton of photos. I like that it's later in the year so I'm not burning in the sun. It's nice to not have flip-flop tan lines haha
Not a ton of events since my last blog but maybe this year I'll attend more concerts and possibly shoot more. I hope everyone has an amazing 2026!
