So, just prior to my upchucking incident, I was going to see if I could find any "extra" work while I was still in Amsterdam. I thought (silly me) that I could get a job either dancing at a club or for a company that does private entertainment. So, there I was walking into this office near the Heineken Brewery. After some confusion about whether I was there to apply for the recently advertised receptionist position, I sat down with "Katja" to discuss. Transcript follows;

"So, have you ever done this sort of work before?"
"Yes, I worked in Japan, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Eindhoven, and Guam"
"Okay, so I will tell you how it works then. Do you want to work in the club or do private shows?"
"Well, I would like information about both before I make a decision."
"That's fine. If you work in the club, you do not get a salary. Only if a customer wants a private show, then you get 63 for an hour. If you do a private show, you are picked up at your house, driven to the location, then after you come here and give me the money and then I pay you 63."
"How does it work, exactly? I mean, how much does the customer pay? They pay 160 for an hour private show with you at the club or 190 for and hour private show outside the club."

I'm scratching my head at this point doing the math and trying to figure what DRUGS they are on. Then it dawns on me that maybe most of the "dancers" get paid "extra" for "extra services". So I ask;

"What do the customers expect for that price?"
"Everything"
"You mean a nude show?"
"No, for that price, they get a blow job, sex, everything."
(I am now forcibly trying to keep my jaw from falling open)
"I see, well I don't think this will work... I am used to getting paid at least double that just for dancing..."
(She is sort of cringing) "Yes, well I think that things are maybe quite different here than in the States."

Can you imagine? Can I say it one more time? Holland is like a third world country!!!!
