Giving coal is more traditional(?) this season of the year and it's another form of carbon (like charcoal) so... But then we're really stretching the analogy and for sure no one would get it.
I do like the long-distance "explodey" thing though. When you get that perfected I'd like to license it - I can see a great market for it.
