I think today was pretty much a typical Monday.
Work however was really shitty. The more time I spend there, the more I seem to notice that I work both for and with a bunch of self centered, counter productive, monopolizing, consumer-culture, capitalist, assholes. A fair number of them seem to think my job involves servicing their needs to the fullest. I work for a massive multi-faceted automated tooling system and design outfit. We are now in literally every corner of the globe. No one can touch us! We have created a complete and total monopoly, the ultimate monopoly. I know I can't work for this company much longer, but the money is good and the hours work. If I could only find a way out?
I don't think it's healthy that I sit around and watch the very demise of our own global workforce. I'm not enjoying the fact that the very foundation of this structure is slowly being removed brick by brick, one at a time. I want to scream! I want to jump out of my skin at times! Why are we so selfish!
In short, the company I help support each and every day, works to eliminate thousands upon thousands of blue collar positions at a rate you could hardly begin to understand.
I wake up most mornings and head straight to the shower. Next I fill a rather large stainless steel coffee mug with home brew and proceed to make my way in to this plethora of ill behavior. Most days I manage to ignore the alterer motives of this very intricate power structure! Then again, I'm only human and some days it just rips my FUCKING heart out!
I will continue to build, I will continue to create, I will continue to innovate ideas as to how we can better conquer our companies goals. Meanwhile, some poor bastard on the other side of the planet, has his life turned upside down for a minuscule turn in profit and an "automated" view of what this sick "machine" we call progress has become!
Again, tomorrow will be a better day.
