Everyone loves to watch as the violet streaks tear across the cold, cold night. With the same hopeful gleam in our eye, staring to the sky, as that all-to-familiar twitch between our shoulderblades fills our mind. The muscles in our back that remember our wings, that remember the night sky as a figure below. As a figure of support, and not just a dream.

But tonight I do dream. Tonight I keep dreaming, because reality will patiently wait for me on the breath of the morning.

There are those of us that remember what it was like to fly, who remember how the clouds felt between our toes. For you, my friends, I smile. Though I long for the sky, the earth has been kind to me, and I smile.
