You say you want me to be happy.

If you really want me to be happy, then why are you trivializing my feelings. That is NOT what friends are for.

I really don't need that kind of bullshit from my "friends" at the moment.

My resolutions before I am 30?

Dance one night in a strip club (I can't DANCE at all!! )
Get my SCUBA certification
Get a black belt in jujitsu
Get laid again.

That is all. Carry on!

I admire the independance and you made a fine statement, but give me an argument.

A friend of mine works in a dialysis clinic. The other day a not so old woman comes in for her appointment and drops dead in the doorway...literally. The workers at the clinic MUST stop everything they are doing (and that's everything for the other patients there) to save this person. They start shocking her right away. They revive her twice in the ambulance. Several hours later this woman is talking and fine at the hospital. She was mixing drugs and bad kidneys and it damn near killed her. Fine, I'm all for people living how they want to live. In this case however, her boat ran into everyone else's. She placed all the other patients at the clinic at risk living the way she wants to live. The argument for legislating morality concerning drugs runs along the lines of "Hey, you can't take mind altering addictive chemicals and not be hazard to everyone." Should the workers at the clinic just let her die in the doorway? Perhaps once they found out at the hospital what she was on they should have let her die. Fine her maby for being that sort of dum ass bitch?

I oppose seatbelt laws, motorcycle helmet laws, carseat laws, and anything else that imposes upon my freedoms to be me and to place myself in danger if I want to, but there are arguments used against freedom. We have to come up with counter arguments or go home.

That is also my point however...

Life is risk. If you want to reduce the risk then one must be prepared to stay at home where it is safe or become a hermit. Going out into social situations presents a risk. To reduce risk, then stay away from people. I'm sorry that everyone ran to that woman's aid, but that is a controlled situation where that is what the workers are paid to do. If you are going there for treatment, you must be prepared to be ditched because someone who is having a more serious problem is in the way. Sure, it was that lady's choice to take the drugs which put her system out of wack and consequently put everyone else at risk...

However, once again I would say... if you want no risk, then stay away from people. People=risk.

Thank god I live in Illinois. I only wear a helmet if it rains... However... you MUST wear a seatbelt here or get ticketed. The way I see it... I ride a motorcycle... a very risky thing to do. If I go down or get hit... then it was my time... I could have been in a car or stayed in the house then I would have not increased my chances of getting hurt or dead. Those are the consequences of my choice. =)
