I'll admit it... I am a geek. But currently a happy one.

With visions of "The 40 Year Old Virgin" running through my head I stood in line at the comic shop waiting to pay for my purchases; chastising myself for being about to spend $45+ on toys. Granted, they are "toys" that I have been waitng for almost 10 years to posess. Since the inception of Stargate SG1 I have asked every now and then "Are they ever going to release action figures?" and always the answer was always a resounding "I don't know." But since early this year it has been known that this summer the SG1 action figures would FINALLY be released. Just in time for Season 10 of the TV series. A couple of months back, there was a pre-release of a special edition figure on Free Comic Book day, which I raced to my local shop to own. Now, it can sit proudly beside the matching pieces of the Series One figures. I am still missing 1 figure, which comes with the missing piece of the Stargate and there is another special edition one that I can send away for with 4 proofs of purchase (which I just so happen to now have). But for now, I am just happy to finally, after all this time be able to start the collection.

And as I stood in that line, watching in disbelief at the amount of time it was taking to ring in the purchases of the guy in front of me and then realizing he had just purchased over $200 woth of comic books... my $50 Stargate toys didn't seem like such a horrible waste of money after all.

I am geek. Hear me Squee.

Just joshing. Yeah it feels good to be out of debt. Just doesn't feel so hot to be out of credit.
