U2 - New Year's Day

All is quiet on New Year's Day
A world in white gets underway
And I want to be with you
Be with you night and day
Nothing changes on New Year's Day
I will be with you again
I will be with you again
Under a blood-red sky
A crowd has gathered in black and white
Arms entwined, the chosen few,
The newspapers say, say, say it's true
And we can break through,
Though torn in two, we can be one
I will begin again, I will begin again
Oh and maybe the time is right
Oh maybe tonight
I will be with you again
I will be with you again
And so we are told this is the golden age
And gold is the reason for the wars we wage
Though I want to be with you
Be with you night and day
Nothing changes on New Year's day

I wrote those lyrics from sheer memory...so do correct me if I got a few words wrong. biggrin

I hunger for change. I hunger to try new things. A close, older friend of mine bought me the book Passion & Purity by Elisabeth Elliot as a present. Many stories are about young women who fell in love, only to have their hearts broken, but they found this faith in god again and used that foundation to heal. She's trying to tell me something, yes, yes. But...I'll read it.

I need to get to bed. I'm meeting the girl who I love but doesn't love me so much anymore. Because I don't let go. I'm an idiot. She could probably stab me in the back with a huge nail or something and I'd still love her. I don't fall out of love. It's a curse. And a blessing.

I'm going to bed. Tell me how your Christmas went. Tell me what were the best/worse parts. Enlighten me. I feel like listening. Wait...I always listen. I just need words.

i never really got into u2 so i wouldn't know the lyrics to that song. it's nice though. right now i'm listening to kittie's oracle album. i had an all right christmas. spent it by myself at home getting drunk. it wasn't lamentation or anything about how much i hate life, or anything. i was just happy and content to spend the time by myself, that and by the time my freinds got done their family stuff i was already blitzed and their lazy asses wouldn't come over. i don't drive drunk... ever.... to many variables involved. anyway. so i stayed home. got drunk. at one point in my happy haze i wrote a journal entry. hung out on yahoo and by the look of it made a few new freinds on it because they are in my freinds list. if you are on yahoo instant mess. and want. add me. i'm moonpieking there too. i just finished the abarat this morning by clive barker and am going to reread the dragonlance chronicles by margeret weis and tracy hickman while i wait for the second book of the abarat to come out. an excellent fantasy series and i highly recommend the books if you haven't read them already. besides that life was pretty uneventful. i watched napoleon dynamite and i robot this weekend. i robot i liked a little bit but dynamite sucked. don't waste your flow on it till it's out of the new releases. i plan to go out on new years. me and anna'll probably go to the hot spot and hang out there. it's a small little bar/night club in town. but the people there are cool and the music doiesn't suck so it's nice. hope you have a kick ass new years.

It's cool that you know the lyrics to songs like that. Most people don't know anything except choruses, and aren't paying enough attention to any of the other lyrics.

My Christmas was cool. Worst parts: getting a book I already had. Best parts: seeing my brother, helping my mom make Christmas dinner, getting away for a few days.
