Canberra has a pretty big music scene there are always gigs on at various venues around town. I can't really say the same for the metal scene. There used to be venues dedicated to metal and alt music but not so much anymore and I think that has a lot to do with it. One thing Canberra has going for it though is Metal For The Brain an annual benifit concert with about 40 bands.
