I'm friends with Sophie! Oooo, it's good to be me.

In response to your question, no, I am not originally from Missouri... I'm from D.C., which is a fantastic city and, in my opinion, the best place to grow up. I'm only in St. Louis because of school, but what I've seen of it, I like very much. Granted, I've only been here about a week, so there is much more to see and do.. Have you ever been here? Where would you recommend exploring?

Perhaps there will be pictures. I'll have to root through my collection, as it's very disorganized on my computer.

I just realized it was september first. Do I need to say rabbit rabbit? Or something like that? I consider myself a pretty superstitious person, I should probably know these things. Whenever I drive through a yellow light I kiss my hand, make a wish and tap the roof of the car. My friend Anna, with whom I grew up, got me doing it after she learned it in Tennessee, and ever since I've noticed this weird habit spreading like wildfire. My friends from Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Missouri, Oregon, Florida and Texas all do it, and everyone has a story about how they learned it. The world is a strange place.

My sister just sent me an email after having returned from Philadelphia with my mother. They were visiting my ailing grandmother, who is ninety-four years old. Apparently, it was one of the most depressing things my sister has ever witnessed. She says my grandmother is ill, but sadder, she is tired of living. She wants to leave. She keeps talking about how she just wants to go to sleep... my mother had to wipe her mouth... it sounds totally gruesome and in a way, I'm glad I wasn't there. My grandmother and I were never close, and in her advanced age, she has evidently forgotten my existence. My sister, being older, has always been her primary grandchild interest, as they had more time together when my sister was a kid. She, however, is my only living grandparent, and, in fact, the only grandparent I ever met. My grandmother is not the most pleasant of people, so in the past we'd all looked at visiting as more of a chore than something to look forward to. So it makes me sad, not least because I hope that when I have grandchildren they'll want to be around me...

We'll stop discussing this. My sister, on the other hand, is well. She is twenty-six, lives in D.C. and is, aggravatingly, one of those people who can pick up any instrument and play it well. She's in a band, actually, and I'm going to do some shameless promotion for them in a second:

Here we go:

rocking out at the Bowery Ballroom

halloween.... bwahahaha

and this is their album cover:

in case it's too hard to see, it's called Catching Looks. It's on itunes and amazon et.al., or you could just walk away from your computer and buy it at an actual record store.

There's a new one coming out in December. I've heard it and it kicks ass, so be on the watch. It's dance-able indie rock with a political bent, so if you like that kind of thing, check them out. They're on myspace as well... and they have a website, which is, obviously enough, www.washingtonsocialclub.com.

end shameless promotion.

And also probably the end of this rambly entry, as I have class in an hour and I have to go buy more books....

and, because you asked, I guess I'll deliver:

that's me on the right smile
cdt21:
I've only been to Miami and Boca Raton(where the old come to die , slowly). If an Englishman's home is his castle then the Atlantic Ocean's the moat since the mother-in-law is in Boca. canaveral is the only draw and the Smithsonian otherwise I'm a Europe lover in all respects.

Oh and Sophie was right of course I was thinking of blyss prancing about on rooftops in minus whatever whatever

We say 'Happy White Rabbits' or my Greek colleague at work used to say ' Happy Month' it clearly doesn't work however you say it but it's fun to do anyway biggrin I prefer to keep all my hands on the wheel whilst sneaking through yellow lights.

I understand about the gmother, I have none left and my Mum died a few weeks back. I looked after her and there are more gruesome things that have to be done I'm afraid, somehow you cope with it. My Dad died eleven years ago now and I have an older sister same age gap pretty much who lives in Nottingham with her entourage but no band. I'll check out the WSC then.

You're very pretty and such beautiful hair perhaps you donate me some

tongue tongue kiss
