When I was younger and living and going to schoolin New York City, I should have put more effort in truly learning another language. I learned a few words in German from my father since he spent time there as an American soldier. I studied Spanish in school but I never felt as if I could hold my own in a conversation. As a Paramedic, I used a lot of medical Spanish to speak with my patients. I always said that I can get drunk, order a meal and flirt but I was kidding myself lol. In the years that passed, I have tried to improve my foreign language skills and even tried to read a novel by Gabriel Garcia Marquez in Spanish. Recently, meeting young ladies on this site I have been wishing I paid more attention to my studies. Google Translation has become a great friend to me lately. I have been trying to teach myself Italian on and off for a while ... I asked my ex father in law's permission to marry his daughter in Italian. That was a disaster but I got through it...I still laugh about that day. Trying to communicate in another language is a challenge for me ... sometimes English is a challenge for me (just kidding) Anyway ladies, thank you for not laughing at me when I try to muddle through another language 😁
