I was in the middle of the desert, at Coachella. Where I got to see Kraftwerk, MIA, Mark Ronson, and as amazing as they all were, Portishead pretty much erased them from my head. The sound that they can produce live just melted my fucking face off.
But then my ass imploded, for I was there to see Prince, and he brought some friends. Friends that many of you know I love nearly as much as I love the tiny, purple one.
Yes, muthafuckin' Morris Day, and his personal man-servant Jerome. They did "The Bird" AND "Jungle Love". Sweet-ass dancing, and the laugh. Woohoo!
That then segued into "Glamorous Life" with Shiela E, who is still super hot.
Prince did all the classic songs he wasn't ever supposed to do again. Including "Controversy" and a cover of "Creep". I couldn't believe the shit that was happening in front of my very eyes.
