I went to the symphony tonight... and gees was it boring. Now don't get me wrong... I do like classical music. but Brahm's Symphony No. 1 was rather tame... I think I am more of a Beethoven, Mozart or Williams kind of girl.
.... and on a completely unrelated note, I think Facebook needs to install some sort of function that limits the time your allowed on the site. Honestly Facebook has taken the better part of 2 years away from my life! Its still so darn addictive!! Mini Feed fie on you!

Many people do not identify with Brahms because of his "old school" style when compared to Wagner; which is curious as Brahms was influenced by Mozart but his piano concertos weren't very much like Mozart. I believe what is lacking in Brahms is range as he was primarily a piano man (as it were) by upbringing and he only got a chance to diversify after his formative years. One may wonder if his style would have been truly different had he been able to experiment more widely as a teenager rather than being truly discovered in this 20s.
