I applied for a job at a high end strip club tonight. I was stoked that some positions opened up and after much thought and consideration I decided it was the right decision for me.
However, I've been getting lectures and insults left, right and center on facebook (because I stupidly voiced my opinion on facebook) from people who know nothing about anything.

I find it really upsetting that these people assume that I have no dignity for wanting to work there. In fact its the opposite! I feel good enough about myself to want to share that and reap the rewards.

Its sad that there is still huge stigma surrounding sex workers. Its not as though Im being forced into it, its my choice and I am happy with it. We live in a world where we are free to choose what area of work is best for us and whatever it is that we choose should be respected.

In a safe, controlled and monitored zone I see nothing wrong with it.

Wish I could voice this on facebook but unfortunately most of the contributors are so close minded they wouldnt even be open to hearing another opinion

They might not even get back to me, but when I could potentially be earning $10,000 a week, it's worth a shot.

If you've got the balls to, why not? I can't help but feel any sort of 'saintly' opposition is just jealousy - for instance, 'I'm spending five years drained and earning nothing at university to eventually make a quarter of what you do because you're fine with dancing naked, so, uh, YOU SUCK'. It's that snobby other end, 'you're better than me at this, but it's only because you didn't stick to the rules of life and cheated'. Well, fuck 'em. You're young now, try it out.
