6:30 am on a Sunday morning, a holiday weekend to boot and I'm wide fucking awake.....how sad is that?
Band rehearsals last night were an amalgam of different experiences for me. We finished the new song, THRU ETERNITY, so it's ready to record/perform now, We even put a killer keyboard/synth part to it so it sounds even more ominous now, which suits me fine. I think it sounds kind of like FAITH NO MORE, but that's just me.
Last night I was THE ONLY ONE that did not touch a drop of alcohol and it fucking sucked. Everyone was having a "good time" and I was totally straight and in a lot pf pain anyway. I did smoke (I"M not giving that up.....yet) a bowl, but the pain was so intense by that point that it didn't even touch it and I got no lift whatsoever. I came home about 10ish, ate, and watched Cheaper By The Dozen 2 with the family than headed off to bed and caught Franz Ferdinand on SNL. Great band those guys!
This morning the PAIN is fucking intense man. Not bitching or boo-hooing (I do this well and frequently) just spilling....
Why does VH-1 show the same videos over and over again? I mean sure, Shakira is hot, no arguement there, but 5 times in 2 hours, c'mon? Show "Cash Machine" by Hard-FI or something and change it up a bit already.
I happen to love the song "Bad Day" by Daniel Powter by the way. I love it SO MUCH that I taught myself the entire song yesterday and played it probably 5-6 times at rehearsals last night. They all said it sounded really good, but then again they were all tipsy too (?) Sorry Daniel, I hope I haven't butchered your song dude.....
Song playing over and over in my head right now is "A Pain That I'm Used To..." by Depeche Mode....
Off to lay down and TRY to get some rest I guess. Wish me luck, I'm beat down like a Mission Street hooker...

I love the song Bad Day too. My son sings it with me in the car. I wish I knew how to play any musical instrument. That's awesome that you learned to play it like that.
As for VH1 at least there is music on there unlike MTV where they NEVER play music anymore.
