It was really cool but after walking for like 10 hours every day i have huge blisters and I "accidentally" scratched a huge chunk of skin off the top of my foot.

Depends a) how you're getting around (bus or tube) and b) how much. If you're unlikely to start before 9.30 and you're staying fairly central (zones 1 - 3) just buy a travel card for each day.

the whole paying for things with oyster other than travel is a bit of a myth at the moment; have a look at the transport for london website for 2-for-1 tickets with travel cards; you get money off at the zoo, etc.
