I could be joining you in the poor stakes... There is a Volvo V70R AWD in electric blue for sale in Glasgow on ebay. I want it sooooo much! It's all I can do to hold myself back from submitting a bid.... I keep thinking my old Sierra is still reliable and motors along nicely, and that the money I'd spend on the Volvo would buy all the parts for my hotrod and then some! Decisions!!

One time I was down in Leatherhead at my then company's HQ, and staying in a pretty posh hotel nearby. There was a bar with the usual food, and also a proper posh restaurant bittie. I decided I was gonna eat in the restaurant, Lucky 13 t-shirt, New Rocks, piercings and all. I went in, there was just one table with 2 guys and 2 women at it. I sat as far away as I could. A young girl about 20 is waitressing, and as I read a newspaper and go through my courses, I can overhear the people at the other table. They are all talking "yuppie", vainly trying to out-do each other at how sucessful a career they had. Sad... Then they're about finished, and the most arrogant of the guys beckons the waitress over... Here's roughly how it goes :
Him : "I'm very unimpressed with the level of service you've given tonight."
Her : "Oh, I'm very sorry sir..."
Him : "You were very late in bringing us tea and coffee after our meal...."
And before he could finish his sentance, he notices me towering over him. "Yes...?" he says sarcastically to me. I took a big breath, and gave him the best dressing down I could muster. I scorned him for being petty and arrogant, and for finding a pathetic fault in the service the girl gave. I also told him that he should try being the only waitress in the joint (she was doing the busy bar too), and see how he got on. Then let ME give him a snooty dressing down in front of his mates. Before he could say anything, I shot him a final look of contempt and turned on my heel to go sit back down. He said nothing more to me or his friends, and they all left. Later on, the girl came back in to thank me for sticking up for her. I told her that complaining when there is a problem is one thing, but that I couldn't stand people like him who do it just to act big. An asshole is an asshole, even if he's a posh asshole!

Yeah, can't beat plain old CSI for the action and acting. Miami is a clost second, though! Just can't seem to get into New York.... The storylines are decent enough, I think it's just the main actor dude (who's name I forget). He's just this deep, broody kinda character which doesn't do it for me. I prefer the optimistic, sharp-edged Grisham.... Even Horatio has his charm! I love the weird experiments Gris comes up with to shine new light on tricky cases. But then there's the thing with his hearing problem and the kinda undercurrent of love between him and my Jorja! Great show
I just hate assholes in general. What's the point?! If you can't say nothing nice, just shut the fuck up and go someplace else. Hope you had a great weekend!
