one of my best friends died a few days ago, and the funeral was today. he was closer than any of my family. its been a painful week, but unfortunately, the world doesnt stop when somebody dies. the individual isnt important to the overall picture; social networks, and thus the world, function the same as the brain: individuals all interact in a bunch of different ways, different paths, to make the whole function. kill off a few, and nothing really changes; its never a problem until a large amount in a specific area dissapears...

Thaddeus was my only geeksmart friend, smarter than me even. i remember one time we were cooking up some k at a friends house and discussing how neurotransmitters affect personality, and how foreign chemicals interfering with this can drastically alter your mood, as with 'antidepressant' and recreational drugs, while everybody stared vacantly at us, waiting for the goods to dry.

i remember another time, when he came out and told us he was bisexual, but said, "dont worry, i'm not attracted to you." i didnt know if i should feel relieved, or insulted.

i'm gonna miss you homie. you wrote some of the best music i've ever heard, and i'll always love you <3

on another note, i think i've finally decided to officially persue neuroscience in academia. there's one school in the state with a neuroscience undergrad program, but i might just do my BA linguistics and all the core reqs and go for a neuroscience graduate program instead. i just need to make sure to do my FAFSA and apply early this year, cuz i've got a lot of paperwork to do to get back into uni.
