Our sole Nat'l Guard regiment is scout/light infantry. There are no slots for enlisted for what I want to do (jump out of planes/ranger)
But joining as an officer gives you privileges, such as going through airborne and ranger school, no matter what you ultimately end up doing (I don't know if I could make it through RIP, or if that's an option for NG anyway).
Always wanted to join the military since I was a kid, and the clock is ticking I accomplished other goals like buying a house and finishing school, and now there are other obstacles in front of another goal. But they will be overcome like everything else

Thanks, I appreciate your input. I corresponded with a full-time Guard officer I know about what the recruiter told me, and he said she was telling the truth and facts about how to get airborne training through OCS, and how enlistment bonuses would be paid out.
