what is the deal with everyone losing their internet connections??? seems like over half the people on my friends list have gone offline.

my son turned a month old yesterday. thank jeebus it's going by quickly. i mean, i'm treasuring every moment and blah blah blah, but i'll be a much happier momma when my baby can sleep through the night and tell me what's wrong instead of the god-forsaken guessing game. plus then we can play cute little games together and play on all the cool toys in the park.

in other news- my gi-normus puppy keeps escaping from his collar which is attatched to a rope that is screwed into the ground in the back yard because we have no fence. then he takes to galavanting around the neighborhood and i'm sure he's impregnating all the females cause he's just now old enough to get fixed and we haven't had the money cause it's all gone to Canon. we even put a body harness on him instead of a collar and the little houdini got on leg out and then chewed his way out of it. the little shit. sigh....how am i going to keep my dog from running away? he could get hurt or dog-napped!!!!!

Well...first I became a childbirth educator and then I became interested in labor support. I am going though DONA (Doulas of North America) to become certified. It is possible to be a Doula without certification (im choosing to because im young, and it gives me credibitly when working with other healthcare proffesionals), but one should definatly have *some traning*. The certification requirments of becomming a Doula (though DONA) are actually pretty simple. I think the biggest part is finding a DONA-approved doula training workshop. Im lucky to have such a thing possible at Seattle Midwifery. And, of course, there is the hands on stuff: supporting real, live, laboring mamas. I love it. Its hard, and I have found myself in challenging places before, but it the most rewarding job (other than being a mother) I have ever had.

Are you intrested in doula work? If so I could send you a shit load more info (I was showing restraint only putting in 3 links).

I am always intrested to see how you are. I hope you are adjusting well. Give yourself time though. I am always learning from my daughter...and shes 17 months.

And by the way...if infancy is not your favorite time in your sons life, dont feel bad. I am much happier now that my kid can walk and (kinda) talk and at least I have some vauge idea of what is wrong with her! I used to feel so guilty beacuse I had a hard time in the beginning. People really made my feel like shit. "oh isnt it great having a newborn" and blah blah blah. NO! its hard! It can suck so much! Shes crying and I cant make her stop!

Anyhow. I feel ya.
