Breaking news:
3 stations have just been evacuated following incidents on trains. The tube lines are closed. Mobile phone networks are down in the centre of town.
Once more, I am in the office and it looks like I will be walking home...again.

Update: In true British spirit we are sitting in the office having a cup of tea.
We plan to leave in half an hour for the walk home. The street where I live has been closed off however (I'm a five minute walk from oval tube station) so whether or not I'll be able to get into my flat when I get there is another matter.

Things have settled down a bit, and i just wanted to say "thanks" for the happy birthday wish, and sorry I did not respond to you earlier.
