This week I've mostly been watching Joaquin Phoenix movies.
I'm going to go blind at this rate. He has certainly blossomed into a fine young man. I remember him as the geeky kid in Space Camp which came out at a time when I had the biggest crush on his older brother River. I can still remember the day River Phoenix died. I was nineteen. I sat at my kitchen table and cried. The way he died was such a shock to me as someone who had admired him for his public views on drugs and clean living. The NFT showed My Own Private Idaho as a tribute. I went with my best friend and we blubbed like kids all the way through it. Such a waste.

Update on the Friday afternoon fire: The betting shop has survived but the dry cleaners is no more. Which explains why the air smelt so bad on Friday. Sadly Stockwell high street is still pretty much a dump.
