I love all things nature related.
I am always trying to expand my garden! I have no green thumb whatsoever and I am making it my mission to get in touch with my inner gardener lately.
In this category also falls things like herbs, flowers, smudge sticks and incense. Even crystals!
I love my home to be filled with gorgeous colours, smells and textures π
Hugs
Why spend money on a gift when hugs are 100 times better than anything you can purchase and they last longer. I can feel a good hug weeks, sometimes years after a good embrace. There's nothing quite like it.
The fact that hugs can lower your heart rate, reduce stress, fight fatigue, lower depression symptoms, help fight infections and they release oxytocin which makes you feel sexy, loved and optimistic, is beyond magical.
Of course cuddles from that special someone are what I'm craving. I can never say no to a good hug!
Books
To be more specific hardcover second hand books. Just the smell of old, well read and dusty books is enough to send goosepimples up my spine. I have learnt so much about myself and the world from books and they have given life so the greatest corners of my imagination!
Not a lot of people know that I had some learning difficulties as a child and I'm not one to brag that I didn't learn to read property until well into primary school. No matter how hard I tried I couldn't even tell the time on an analogue clock until I was in my teens. I attended reading lessons, later becoming a volunteer reading coach in high school to help kids who had the same problems.
The smell of an old book, one with torn yellowed pages and dog ears warms my heart like nothing else. I can feel the thrill of an adventure, the sweetness of a first kiss and the taste of the freedom that comes with being literate.
Books are magickal!
Honestly though, I would trade all of those in for sunshine!
Sunshine is pretty much my favourite thing ever but I have no idea how you would gift it. Hahaha. My favourite place is by the window, watching the trees sway with a book in hand and my puppies napping around me. The sunshine on my face is one of the best feelings βοΈ
There to have it. The three best gifts to give me and one that you can't gift but it's so awesome I'd give up all of the presents just to have more of it haha.
