Do, or do not. There is no "try".

-Yoda (The Empire Strikes Back)
This quote inspires me and it will start off my blog homework for the day... If I could start a small business what would it be? Thanks @Rambo @missy & @charmaine I really like this one!
I do everything! I see something creative being done and I want to be apart of it, I need to learn that skill. Although I have had maaaaany jobs and maaaaany hobbies because of this need to do everything and never miss an opportunity, I did manage to turn one of my hobbies Into a small business for myself once; I was the self proclaimed nail queen! Haha.
Here's the story: I did a nail tech course straight out of school, even though I wasn't sure it was what I wanted to do my parent said now was the time to pick a career so I went along with my sister (we were in separable at the time and beauty was what she had always wanted to do) and enrolled in the course.
Turns out I was better at nails than my sister was haha. I went on do work at a few salons before opening up my own small business, renting space in a nearly salon. I had the beat time there, made so many life long friends (I met my roommate there) and never wanted to leave.
I specialised in 3D and acrylic nails. Here are some (photos of bad) old printed photos I took of my crazy creations!

Eventually it was time to move on and find a big girl job and I moved into an accounts position for a local fruit market. I never lost my love for nail design though. I do mine every now and then and occasionally my friends will ask a favour and I'll get to be creative. Now, technology has come a long way since I was doing this so I can only imagine the kind of magical things I would be able to create if I was still in the game!
Despite my love for acrylics, if I could run any business now I would want to create and sell anything and everything! I love to use my hands and I love to create. Here are a few of the many things I love and dream of turning into little businesses:
Needle point!

My roomies girlfriend has started doing needle point as part of an art project and I now want to give it a go. I pretty much always try my hand at anything artsy I come across. I would love to have a plethora of hilarious, ridiculous, feminist, geeky and inspirational needle point frames all over the house!

Taxidermy!

In particular pet taxidermy and jewellery making. I would love to make a business out of creating personal keepsakes and pieces of jewellery of past pets for loving families. I have always had a love for anatomy. Cutting, bleaching, curing, sewing and posing REALLY appeal me. I swear I'm not a psychopath! Hahaha. I have always been in awe of taxidermy as an art form and one day would love to make this a career.

Crystal creations!

These are crystal pendants I have make. I would love to eventually turn this into a real business, simply because I love making them so much. Why not turn what you love doing into your job? Haha.

Pet rescue!

This is a little puppy that my roommate, Greg and I, named Princess Chewy. (For her resemblance to Chewbacca) Last month we found her on the street out the front of my house and since she was without tags and it was a Saturday on a public holiday weekend there was no way to find out where she lived! So we did the only thing we could do, we look her in and made her comfortable for her short stay. I bathed her, clipped her (she looked like she had been running for days and was all matted and full of mud) and fed her. This photo is of us cuddle up on the lounge after dinner, she fell asleep straight away. She had a comfortable nights sleep beside Greg in his bed and woke up a new girl in the morning! After the long weekend was over we look her to our local vet clinic, had her scanned and found her home. They were beside themselves and couldn't thank us enough for taking care of Princess. She had escaped while frantic during a storm, poor thing. She was the sweetest dog and even though sometimes I still miss her and think that I might have liked to keep her, I am so happy she's home.

I could think of nothing more rewarding than doing this on a big scale. Saving dogs, treating them, loving and rehabilitating them and finding them homes.

Jack of all trades, master of none. That's me! haha

Ps. My latest set is out and it can't make front page without your love! So go, ogle my naked body and enjoy!

Love and light,

Amaryllis xx
