tarnish

yesterday started off great. I went in to work, and it was busy as hell, the first several hours flew by. Derek came in a dropped of a dollor and the number to the monrovia transit so I could get a ride home. On my half hour break I went to call to mkae an appointment for my ride and noticed that derek had written the SWEETEST little love note on it, that totally brightened up everything about my day up to that point. Then a few hours later my manager left and the store was in the hands of two other shift leaders(my manager had told me earlier in the day that he didn't really get along with them, and that's why he was training me and several others to be shift managers. ) Well these shift leaders are always joking and playing around and not really doing their job to the best of their ability, basically as soon as the store manager leaves, everything slows to a crawl. But I'm still new, and I'm trying to get on the good side of the people I'm working with, so I hustle, and I do what I'm told when I'm told and quickly. Well, as I'm putting away kids meal bags, one of the shift managers is heading towards the drive through window, and ever so lovingly told me to "move your fat ass". I was SHOCKED! As soon as he said it, the other shift manager squeeled in shocked laughter and my homey that was standing near by asked if he had been talking to me, I nodded yes, and went to the back to gain my composure. The entire rest of the day was shit.

When I came home I called Derek and asked him what he thought I should do, and without hesitation he told me to call my manager and let him know whats up. I was a little aprehensive, because I didn't want this to somehow cause me more drama, but derek had a point. If I had of let it slide, things would most likely have gotten worse, and I am by no means a push over. So i called my manager and he apologized for "pato's" behavior and took immediate action. About five minutes after I got off the phone with Eddie, I got a call from Pato, saying he was sorry for anything he might of said, but that he was sure it was all a misunderstanding and that he would never use foul language towards a woman because he respects women and blah, blah, blah. He's full of shit, but I accepted his apology because I do have to work with this guy. And now he knows that if he EVER says anything like that to me again, I will not hesitate to contact the manager.

I have a busy few days ahead of me, company tomorrw(hopefully) and dereks company picnic on Sunday. What Are YOU up to?
