tarnish

Last night was...well, strange. The club was a "size acceptance" club. So it was pretty much all big girls, and the men that like them. Which was kind of cool. The girl I went with is really in to clubbing and that sort of thing, so a lot of the time I was just kind of standing around, looking uncomfortable, while she was out flirting. It was so awkward when random dudes came up and tried to start a conversation with me. At one point I went outside and these guys started asking me about my piercings, which was cool. But then the conversation sort of died, and the one guy just started talking about random things that didn't really apply to anything, and it got so weird that his friend was all embarassed. Then there was the dorky white boy from the midwest. Wow, let me tell ya. COULD NOT DANCE. He practically forced me to dance with him, then I couldn't even look in his direction because all of his flailing was making me laugh hysterically. He seemed like a nice enough guy, but he was so annoying! He kept following me around, and warding off all approaching men(which I didn't really mind, kept me from having to turn them down) as if I belonged to him. I told him I was married, and he backed off a little, but was still being annoying and yapping my ear off. Then there was leather jacket guy. He kept sneaking up next to me, then grabbing my arms or shoulders, and giving me these "Deep" looks, that did nothing but make me extremely uncomfortable. At one point he comes up behind me, grabs my shoulders and whispers in my ear"How does it feel to be the hottest chick here?" No matter how true it was it was still a lame line. And he was so touchy I wanted to kick him in the balls. I told him I was married, and he seemed like he was going to back off, but he came back in the end, and made me dance to a lionel richie song with him. He sang like every word into my ear, my ear drum was vibrating as I tried to push him away. At one point he tried to bite my earlobe and thats when I really really really freaked out. I was like woah, hey watch it there, hands and teeth off me pal. And he said he was sorry and scampered off.

While most of the women there were extremely pleasant. There were a few "haters" as the girl I went with put it. I walked outside to get some air at one point, and one of the girls in a group said "oh boy, here comes Miss Attitude." And they all looked over at me. And I greeted all of their bitter gazes with a giant, fabulous smile.

Even though I spent a good portion of the night being uncomfortable, I also had a good deal of fun, dancing and acting goofy. I won't go again without Derek. He can ward off all the weirdos.

It felt so good to get home, and out of the club outfit, and into my cuddly PJs and snuggle up with Derek. I think I'm going to go crawl back in bed with him right now.
