I suppose it's time for an update. Not much has changed. still working constantly. still preparing to head to vegas in two weeks for the conference for work. Work, work, work. I keep dreaming of the day I can finally do something I love doing, but without a degree, it will never happen.

I've been reading, a ton. It's all fiction. Sci-fi, and fantasy stuff. Lot's of vampires, werewolves, and crazy scary fairy things. Nothing amazing, some really entertaining stuff, I doubt any of you would really take an interest in. some cheesy romance stuff gets interspersed, but I don't mind it when it's well written.

One of the writers I've been reading, Karen Marie Moning, is most known for her Highlander series, which revolves heavily around celtic and druid lore. Of course the heroes of the story are all brawny Scotsmen, who just happen to be powerful ancient druids who must uphold their clans oath to keep the walls between the human realm and faerie, intact. And as any good romance novel would have it, they each find their soulmate in the most extraordinary and unusual ways. The Heroines are, for the most part, incredibly well-educated, and multi-layered. Unique and powerful in their own way. I'm only reading them because I got one of her other books free on Kindle. and read the other two in that series. It's her "fever" series. A lot less romance, but a lot more sexual tension. A lot more ass kicking, and crazy shit going on. I love it. So once I found out I could learn more about what was happening in one series, by reading the other, I started on it.

I wouldn't recommend these to men, honestly. Because they are very much written for women, being focused on the female leads, and only emphasizing the sexuality of the men. With the exception of the Fever Series, but I still don't think most guys would dig it. So if you're a woman who likes an entertaining and somewhat sexually charged read, I would say check her out. smile
