My family pisses me off. I can't believe I lived under the same roof as them for 19.5 years. mad

Recap:
Derek and I got married in Vegas (mostly his idea and I thought it would be fun and it was) but we were going to have a second ceremony so that my mom and everyone could be there.

Now:
I talked to my grandma today (her and my mom and grandpa just got back from a cruise to Mexico today) and she wanted to talk about the wedding. She tells me we have to have it in their backyard, when before we were only going to have it there if we couldnt find anything else. Also she has picked out all of the flower arrangements and she has borrowed decorations from a freind of hers.

Am I a spoiled brat because I don't want hand-me-down decorations that aren't even the colors I wanted? Am I being inconsiderate because I would rather find another location so that Derek's family won't have to drive 80 miles out to Perris and 80 miles back? My mom told me that I am far too demanding, and that I've always asked too much of them all of my life. And I hate to say this, but how the fuck does she know? She wasn't there at all until I was 16. This is so frustrating. I can't talk to them and tell them how I feel because Im always wrong, and if I have simple requests for my wedding Im a spoiled brat that demands too much.

I talked to my other grandma and she said we could have the reception(I've decided that a reception is fine I dont want the formal ceremony anymore) in their back yard, which is good because it's almost smack dab in the middle for both of our families. Hopefully it will all turn out ok.

Must say I'm in the majority here.

It's you're wedding celebration, not your mothers. It's up to you and Derek you decide what you want. If your Mother wants to be involved she should agree with your decisions, although saying that is easy.

You just do what you want.
