I'm looking forward to the day we can get cerebral implants and connect to "the net" all the time - kind of Ghost in the Shell kind of thing. It would be cool to be able to display stuff directly into your brain so that it appears in front of you. Your visual saccades can be used to select stuff - or just think to select stuff.
What would be even cooler is you'd be able to change your appearance virtually, then anyone else seeing you would have your actual visual representation replaced by your avatar. I wonder what everyone would look like if they could choose any way to look. Using a little picture avatar as we do at the moment is just like rubbing two sticks together in the evolution of an online presence.
