Sometimes the Internet can be an awesome place to be . . .
Fewer than twenty-four hours ago, someone suggested to Fark.com that it would be cool and funny if the Internet made this meme a reality by raising funds to buy Joe Biden a Trans Am.
Within hours, this bit of silliness had morphed into a fund-raising drive on IndieGoGo to raise $25,000 to benefit the Biden Breast Health Initiative, Doctors Without Borders, the Wounded Warrior Project and GLAAD.
As I write this, only one day into a forty-eight day drive, we are closing in on 20% of the goal - an amount achieved entirely by word-of-mouth and the Power of the Internet.
I've been fortunate enough to be able to watch this thing asplode across the tubes, and I'd love to see the SG community get behind it as well. These are four great charities, and how often do you get to do something important and silly at the same time?
