Take a VERY good development team, like "id", it would be foolish for them it go exclusive w/ DOOM III, they would be cutting out a major market share...
Exclusives are like the bait for consumers to buy the console, Prince of Persia didn't do very well on any platform (well, at least not on PC)... games like Final Fantasy, Tekken, Soul Calibre (et al), will always do well... A lot of fanboys decried the movement of developers to consoles, but it just makes sense, there is a far greater market because a console is just like a regular electronic consumer device, like a VCR, or a tv... it's an entertainment system.... you don't have to fuck around w/ setting to get your framerate up to speed, they design for a fixed set of hardware....
I prefer consoles, I don't even have a game installed on my machine... I'd be curious to see the track reccord of the exclusive developers signed on to Nin's handheld... for them, it's a great deal... and for Nin'... it's good media hype.
