Updated list of my favorite movies (including little mini-reviews) :
1. Evil Dead 2
The reason I want to make my own movies, and just an incredible movie. The camerawork is still the best I've ever seen.
2. Kill Bill 1
I'm still kicking myself for missing this in theaters. A brilliant movie, perfect in nearly every respect (with the notable exceptions of the sword conversation with Hattori Hanzo and the somewhat disapointing sequel).
3. Big Trouble in Little China
One of those movies you watch over and over again because you can't believe it exists. This movie seems like a weird, but impossibly awesome, dream.
4. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Elias Koteas as Casey Jones is one of the best casting decisions EVER. This is an extremely well directed low-budget movie, destined to be overlooked because of it's license.
5. Sleepy Hollow
Holy crap, I just can't stop watching this movie! Tim Burton's masterpiece. Extremely stylish, with brilliant use of colors and such. Christina Ricci and Christopher Lee are especially good in this.
6. Once Upon A Time In Mexico
Robert Rodriguez is a genius. The greatest pure action movie ever.
7. Escape From New York
Kurt Russel and John Carpenter are great together. Really stylish, with Harry Dean Stanton taking some terribly written lines and turning them into pure awesome. Isaac Hayes and Lee Van Cleef are sweet as hell in this, too.
8. Amelie
The best "chick flick" ever made, because it wasn't shot like a chick flick. Perfect soundtrack by Yann Tierson takes this movie from "frickin' amazing" to "OMGHOLYSHITWTF!!!11one"
9. Brazil
Terry Gilliam proves that directorial control makes movies rock in this fucking sweet... Um... Hell, I dunno what it is. But it's fucking sweet. Micheal Palin and Robert De Niro are cool as hell in this one.
10. Snatch
Has the best opening of any movie ever. It doesn't hurt that it's really well written and there's not a bad actor to be seen.
Honorable Mention: Spider-Man 2
If it had been written by someone even remotely competent, this could have been amazing. As it is, it's a testament to Sam Raimi's abilities that he was able to stop this movie from sucking (well, almost. The "Don't worry, Spidey..." scene drove it over the edge). Seriously, this should have been Raimi's masterpiece... Did you SEE Doc Ock's escape scene!? It was like everything I loved about the Evil Dead movies condensed into two minutes!
I used to hate movies, believe it or not. I mean, I liked a few (Amelie, Watership Down, TMNT, some anime), but I preferred video games, comics, or books. It wasn't until I saw Evil Dead 2 last summer (yes, I've turned into a huge movie geek in just one year) that I realized that the problem was that nearly all of the movies I'd seen up to that point were garbage. You have to really look for the good stuff. Which reminds me, I need to see Moulin Rouge... A friend just showed me Romeo and Juliet recently, and I need to see more of this guy's stuff- that movie was awesome.

In other news, my face has been PWNED by, er, everything. Zits, pink eye, running into branches... My face is soooo fucked over. I'd show you guys the hilarity, but I forget where my digital camera is and don't feel like getting up to look for it.
Just imagine me with a torn up nose, big nasty swollen red eyes, and a bunch of scratches and shit.
In other other news, the S and D keys need to be further apart. This is the fourth time I've edited this entry for typos related to mixing up those two keys. Or as I like to call them, "keyd."

I like Snatch as well. It was a good movie. I'm n ot a movie buff, so I can't really list what I like.
