Before I forget, I watched Ong Bak: the Thai Warrior Friday night. Oh man, was that ever cool. Surprisingly, the coolest scenes didn't even involve fighting. You know how Bruce Lee is the king of melee in martial arts movies, while Jackie Chan is known for using props? Tony Jaa, the star of the movie, will be known for his ridiculous jumps and acrobatics.

So I arrived at Earlham Sunday, at some time in the morning or afternoon- well I know it was some time anyway- and went and signed up and whatnot. My host guy showed up and we bullshitted a bit while we waited for a friend of mine to arrive (I needed a ride back and he was elected unanimously by me and me, but I had to find out what his plans were).

After that I was taken back to the guy's dorm room and impressed by the tales of debauchery and whatnot told by random people wandering into the room. The coolest bit was when some girl came in and showed us a bit of chain mail she'd made. She said she was making a chain mail pouch to carry her gaming dice in. love

I went on a tour, which honestly wasn't very interesting so I won't bother to talk about it. Well, I guess most of this isn't very interesting, but you'll just have to suffer.

Next was dinner, so we went to the cafeteria, which was impressively not terrible. I didn't eat much because I'm me, but people weren't vomiting or dying of food poisoning which is a good sign. A few more improbable stories later we ran into some friends of my host who mentioned Mario Kart 64. A few hours and many death threats later, I left with the knowledge that I am unbeatable on Luigi's Raceway.

So we head back to the dorms and I happen to walk past some kids (including my host's roommate) watching Akira Kurosawa's Dreams. Now that's some good stuff. So I stuck around. In addition to Dreams, we watched The Last Unicorn, The Neverending Story, and A.I. (which was surprisingly decent, despite the last hour which was completely unnecessary). By the time we were done, it was 4:00 AM, so I ended up sleeping in that room. I even got a bed since one of the girls decided to stay up all night in the library studying.

The next morning I checked out a programming class, which looked good, and after many wacky hijinks (read: surprisingly few wacky hijinks) I headed home. All in all a good end to the weekend.

So, random question time. What song would you like played at your funeral? I'd really like some Danny Elfman, but I'm not sure what song in particular I'd want. Maybe the Beetle Juice theme or Birth of the Penguin from Batman Returns.
ovida:
I want that chicks number, seriously love ...plus I have desire to go watch The Last Unicorn now. Curse you!

I hope that phrase serves you well, and I pray someone asks you "What's a Saskatchewan?" just beacuse I'd laugh.
