I've never waited in line for a party before, but I did last night, and only because I happened to bring along my boss and wanted to impress her. I'm glad we did, though, because the evening was high-larious.

Once we were permitted poolside where the party was being held, we stocked up on all sorts of yummy hors d'oeuvres, which nobody was eating because fashion crowds don't eat. No matter, more food for me... though I suspect the chicken satay gave me stinky breath.

Some man in a porkpie hat grabbed me, kissed me on both cheeks, and cried, "Ciao, bella!" I gave him a big smile and asked how he'd been, since I hadn't seen him in... well, ever.

Afterwards, I had even more fun watching a friend's slide installation, but I am paying the price by being at home today, sick and exhausted. I think I am far too old and frail for all this. It's still fun to do every once in a while, though...

In other news, I will be in Newcastle, England the entire month of June, for work. I am so excited I can't explain. Perhaps I will meet a brooding university professor, get married, and stay...

Wow, now I really can't wait for J-Pod. Exciting.

I'm in the big smoke, enjoying the grey wonders of London-town. As the weeks and months go by, I'm even (begrudgingly) developing a soft spot for the place. So many hidden treasures.

I hear a bit later this year you'll be visiting this little island's shores?
