I ventured into my garden today, armed with a digital camera, and got carried away taking pictures of my fish!

Here's Blimp; she's matriarch of all she surveys, and has hit the grand old age of 13 this year. She's grown up with me biggrin

I also bumped into this lil' fella whilst preoccupied with the fish...

Then I went back inside to discover that an Emperor Dragonfly had snuck into my kitchen whilst I was out! They're huge things, much larger than that red one, and their wings make a hells noise! Unfortunately I couldn't take a picture of it, because it was divebombing me!

My favourite four pictures are full size in my pics section if anyone's interested biggrin

Off to badminton training tonight, might do some writing when I get back if I'm not too knackered!

hello and thanks for the welcome

My MA is in movement studies, and my thesis is on the application of Laban actor movement to CG animation. hurrah.

Unlike me, I see you're studying something socially useful, thank you. I'll know who to call on when the writing drives me nuts. you must get that gag all the time... sorry

yay for fish. smile

Or does each "birthday" mark another step upon the road to completion? We have 365 days worth of new knowledge and experience to build upon what we had the previous year.
Is it not a chance to reflect on what you have achieved since your last "birthday" and how you have improved yourself as a person?

I always find birthdays yield very little in the way of excitement, but maybe that's because I've failed to evolve as a person since the last! tongue

Presently, I'm trying to avoid such thinking. A detailed examination of the year gone leaves me in a poor light.
