Hello!
It's getting to that time of the year when vague and fatuous awards are given out willy and indeed, nilly.
So in the greatest tradition, the website I 'work' for are doing their yearly awards for best album, single, live act and compilation. Here are my votes for the top ten albums of the year:

1 Bloc Party - Silent Alarm
2 Rilo Kiley - More Adventurous
3 Arcade Fire - Funeral
4 Sufjan Stevens - Illinois
5 Futureheads (self titled)
6 British Sea Power - Open Season
7 Sons and Daughters - Repulsion Box
8 Mew and the Glass Handed Kites
9 Sigur Ros - Takk
10 Clap Your Hands Say Yeah (self titled)

The singles looked a bit like this:

1 Rilo Kiley - Portions For Foxes
2 iForward Russia! - Nine
3 Futureheads - Decent Days and Nights
4 Test Icicles - Circle Square Triangle
5 Arcade Fire - Rebellion
6 Tom Vek - I Ain't Saying My Goodbyes
7 Editors - Munich
8 Good Shoes - Small Town Girl
9 Mystery Jets - You Can't Fool Me Dennis
10 Bruce Springsteen - Devils and Dust

Feel free to criticise/mock my selections for not being __ enough. The final results will doubtless look much different, because I'm not half as 'cool' as the rest of the writers. I've obviously done my best to get Rilo Kiley and the wondrous Miss Lewis to the top though. biggrin
It's been a decent year for music in the UK and the US. And Sweden for that matter.

Haha yeah same here, although I'd like to think I'm closer to childhood despite what some of my friends will say, I just don't want to grow up too much that badly yet!

The next time I attend a funeral I will make sure to take a dictaphone with a few key words on it.
