Stress fracture for The Passion of The Reyes-- 4 to 6 weeks.

I will now light myself on fire.

Seriously how many injuries does this poor kid have to suffer through?

Is he the National League's equivalent of Job?

I love this kid. Love his game, and love his attitude. Hang in there Jose and don't get down. Man, I'd hobble around April-October every year if it would keep you healthy buddy.

I never thought I'd be the type of man to walk out on my family, but Jim Duquette -- trade Jose Reyes in the off-season and I leave. . . I'm done. Even if he goes to the Cardinals. Wow. Rooting for the White Rat's team. That would suck. It's hard to hate your front office.

It's a lot like supporting the troops while distrusting the president.

Now on to the multimedia part of the Mets portion of the journal -- and don't lie and say you aren't here for the Mets, because you know damn well you are. Hell, we all know that you came to Suicide Girls for the beauties, but you stay for the Mets musings. Missy's empire is based on my ravings about Art Howe's fetid bullpen management.

We have now developed a photo to convey the sense of dread that John Franco brings with him from the bullpen these days.

With a nod to E

I call this

John Franco . . . Game Changer

Oh for he is a game changer. Just like Charles Manson was a game changer for Sharon Tate, or Montecore was a game changer for Roy.

I am writing again. I always had a thing for Big Two-Hearted River. And I realized why today. What I am going to do is take 16 stories and use them to prove a point that I feel strongly about. I have hemmed hawed and waffled on lots of points of philosophy since I was 16 and thought I was the most sorrowful soul in the world. I've thought I've known it all and I've been convinced I've known nothing.

What I am pretty sure of is this:

We are wrong to think that the uniqueness of our experiences isolates us.

We each have had our lowest moments and our bestest. Our greatest joy, shame, sorrow, loss, love, pain.

To some it is the event that brought the feeling that is the focus -- they become wrapped up in the circumstances to the point that they will not connect with other folk. They particularize to the point that they will not share, because obviously, no one has had that same experience to the letter. They use the refrain 'you wouldn't understand' as the perfect reason to walk the other way. It's a way to move, but I do not think it is necessarily the only way to go.

I think you can back it out to the other end -- we've all had a worst day and a best one -- and focus on the shared results of varied experiences.

It's a matter of choice, of how you define yourself. Will it be by the circumstances that have occurred or by what you feel. Now the circumstances that produced my best and worst feelings are probably unremarkable to most because I am a simpleton, but the reactions are there, and I can share on that level.

So you can engage or say that nobody knows my sorrow and sneer at the world.

And that's what I will be writing about.

Time to go catch a very late night of boozing and madden 2005.
