I would like very much to hang out with Beavis and Butthead. Yes I understand what I am saying. I understand that this would, in effect, make me Stuart -- but I'm all for it.

Just got a call from the office -- on the second day of a four-day weekend that I'd been planning since way before this trial. Now mind you, I haven't had a day off before yesterday since April. APRIL! So now, I have to go into the office over the fucking weekend to do work on another case. I really think that I have to leave this place before it kills me. Even when I'm not there, I'm there. I just cannot get any peace.

In other news, I finished Song of Susannah. I love the Dark Tower series. Maybe it's not brainy enough for some lit. snobs -- I know it wasn't for my fellow comparative literature majors -- but then you all are jackasses for thinking that, because you rob yourself of some of the greatest stories ever told just to look cool while you sit in Starbucks. It's all about trying to get laid anyway, isn't it? Isn't it? C'mon. You all ain't fooling anyone into thinking you really like to read Derrida.

Man, that sucks about work. How was "Song of Susannah"? I've read the rest of the series, but I haven't seen the new one on the shelf here on base yet.

Hey.

Thanks for the welcome; much appreciated...

I've never read the Dark Tower series before, but I know some of King's stuff can be really good. He did write Shawshank Redemption, after all. (and the other Four Seasons stories were pretty good, too). A good book's a good book, no matter the "status" accompanying it.

Gotta disagree regarding the fancy lit-crit texts, though... I definitely don't read Derrida to get laid. God, I can only imagine trying to flirt about his stuff... "So, wanna help me deconstruct this beer bottle label?" *shudder*
