Anybody ever read the book Animal Farm. For some reason I've been thinking about this book a lot lately. I know all the rhetoric on it being a commentary on communism, but I think it applies to people in general.
Hypocricy, hypocrites, conspiring to defame, discredit, fuck with others; whatever, it makes me so fucking angry.
Today I stopped in my part time job to pick up a couple items. I checked our email and in it is this scathing memo to the entire staff from our general manager outlining certain activites that will "no longer be tolerated". Now the funny thing is the only people that ever partake and encourage said "activities" are the management staff. Infact, these "activities" have to be approved by higher managers.
So I turn to one of the guys I work with as he is walking up and ask "What the hell is this all about?". He says "Same everyday bullshit in here. Nice working with you. I just got canned". As he's getting ready to walk out, the sales manager (who is probably the biggest brown nose of them) tries to stop my (ex) co-worker. My co-worker pushes him out of the way and says "Stay the fuck away from me you two-faced punk". I heard the statement, I didn't actually see the shove.
Well I've worked there long enough to have seen this place go from a really cool place to work to a complete back stabbing corporate shit farm. I've seen good people get forced out and fired simply because they didn't fit in the "powers that be" plan. Regardless, the phrase "Some animals are more equal than others" popped into my head. And it also went into a reply I sent to the entire chain with the original memo.
Well when I got home tonight after visiting my mother to celebrate her birthday, there were a few messages on my machine. One was from a pissed off general manager mad because the memo was meant for the store only and he got reprimanded for it. Another from the sales manager wanting me to back him on a statement for the police for an assault charge he is pressing against my ex co-worker. One from my ex co-worker wanting me to back him against the charge. Another from the police of the town where the store is. And the last from the CEO of the chain wanting to speak to me about "my cryptic comment" to the chain.
The only one I replied to was the police to make sure my co-worker hadn't been arrested. Luckily, he hadn't and told them that I didn't see any assault, unless they meant the sales manager trying to keep my co-worker from leaving the store.
Well that was my day. I'm going to bed.

Yes I loved that book. I would actually like to read it again but there are so many more that I want to read first that I haven't read.
Drama comes all too often.
